LLMs ≠ Search Retrieval quality determines AI responses

Retrieval will 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗜. LLMs aren’t search engines, so they can only be as good as the information you feed them.

Most of the issues people blame on prompts are actually 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀. If your chatbot or agent is going off piste, it’s usually because it wasn’t provided with the right context in the first place.

This matters even more in financial research, where recency, nuance and source-specific insight are everything. An LLM can’t surface the latest analysis unless the retrieval layer is 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝘂𝗽-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵.
